Hi my name is Jessica Birkett, i’m a 15 year old showjumper. i’ve been riding for 8 years, i started by doing a bit of hunting on my first pony and then moved onto bs. i compete most weekend and i have worked my way up from 128 stepping stones to last month where i jumped my first pony showjumper of the year qualifier and jumped on the england debut teams. i’ve had a really busy summer competing in scotland, wales and at nationals, where we took the title of national champions. really excited for the year ahead with my 2 super 148 ponies!!

Hi I’m Amy and I’m 17 and just left school I have had lots of success on the ponies and already have had a good first 9 months on horses I won HOYS in 2017 on my 128cm Madonna as well as winning the RHS the same year. Qualifying for HOYS on many 128s, 138s and 148s. I have competed at all the major shows round the country as well as backing and producing youngsters along the way This year 2022 I qualified 2 horses for 3 classes each for the Royal Highland Show as well as being invited to jump in the mini major as a major (one of the youngest ever) I jumped one of only 3 clears in the 140 Grand Prix at the extravaganza show and was treble clear and 4th in the fox Hunter second round which qualified me for the Masters at National I have started my own business AM Equestrian and take in ponies to back and horses to produce and jump.
Anna Craig

I am Anna Craig. I’m 17 years old and from Newport on Tay in Scotland. I have been riding since 2016 when injury and a diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome stopped me from taking part in competitive gymnastics. I love producing ponies and horses and have had a lot of success in doing so. I started jumping at affiliated shows in 2019. I was out of ponies at the end of 2021 but absolutely loved my pony years, competing all over the country and taking my young ponies from jumping cross poles to BS members cup level. We had many successes and ribbons along the way, including riding on the Academy Scottish Team and being in the money at welsh home pony. I am especially proud that I produced both ponies myself, with some help from my coach, Aileen Reed. I now have a beautiful 17hh horse called Special who started his BS career with me in November 2021. Special has so much potential but we are taking things slowly and making sure we don’t rush him. I also do some showing, having the ride of a Clydesdale called Bogton Commander. We just missed a HOYS ticket at the Royal Highland Show in 2019 having only got on him for the first time for 10mins on the morning of the show. At 14 years old i was the youngest in the class of 25 Clydesdale by quite a few years! We are looking forward to competing at the World Clydesdale Show up in Aberdeen in October 2022. I work as a groom at Edenside Stables so spend my days with lots of competition horses, mucking out, preparing them for shows and making sure they are all pampered! In my spare time I help my little brother with his ponies, he is 7 and just starting out at shows. I have two gorgeous Chihuahuas names Kimi and Nando – they keep me busy with all the mischief they get up to!
